Ozark Man Arrested, Charged with Capital Murder in Dothan

DOTHAN, Ala. — An Ozark man, Michael Tywuan Taylor, 24, has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Wesley Blake Bowen, 33, of Dothan, following a suspected robbery that turned deadly and ended with a vehicle submerged in a retention pond Friday morning.

Just before 10 a.m. on January 30, the Dothan Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle that had crashed into a retention pond in the 2700 block of Ross Clark Circle. First responders rushed to the scene and attempted to check on the individual inside the submerged vehicle. However, upon closer inspection, they determined the occupant was deceased.

Further investigation revealed that the victim had suffered a fatal gunshot wound, shifting the incident from a traffic crash to a homicide investigation. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a Black male flee the area shortly after the crash, prompting Dothan police officers to immediately begin an active search of the surrounding neighborhood.

The victim was later identified as Wesley Blake Bowen, age 33, a resident of Dothan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As officers canvassed the area, they located a man on Stonewood Drive behind Farrah Circle who matched witness descriptions and images captured by nearby surveillance footage. That individual was identified as Michael Tywuan Taylor, 24, of Ozark. During the search, investigators recovered a jacket and a handgun near the location where Taylor was found—items believed to be connected to the crime.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Dothan Police Department, Bowen and Taylor were traveling together in Bowen’s vehicle when Taylor allegedly produced a firearm during a suspected robbery. Police say Taylor shot Bowen inside the vehicle, causing Bowen to become incapacitated. As a result, the vehicle lost control and crashed into the retention pond, where Bowen ultimately died.

Taylor has been formally charged with one count of capital murder during a robbery, a charge that carries the most severe penalties under Alabama law. He is currently being held without bond.

Authorities expressed gratitude to community members whose quick action, eyewitness accounts, and shared information played a crucial role in locating and arresting the suspect.

  • Obituary Death of 23 Year old Tatyana Desinor

Obituary Death of 23 Year old Tatyana Desinor

With heavy hearts and sincere compassion, we pause to lift up Tatyana Desinor, a 23-year-old young woman from Marlborough, Massachusetts, following a tragic snowmobile accident that occurred on Friday, January 30, 2026, in the Town of Carroll, New Hampshire.

On what was meant to be a day of winter adventure and shared experience, Tatyana was taking part in a guided snowmobile tour along Old Cherry Mountain Road, a designated snowmobile trail during the winter months. At approximately 11:30 a.m., emergency services were alerted through a 911 call after an accident occurred during the ride.

While operating a rental snowmobile, Tatyana attempted a slight left-hand turn. In a moment that unfolded far too quickly, the machine was pulled into soft snow along the right-hand side of the trail, causing it to veer into a tree. She sustained upper body injuries, the full extent of which was unknown at the time. Immediate action was taken by those around her, and emergency responders were swiftly dispatched to the scene.

Responding agencies included Twin Mountain Fire and Rescue, the Carroll Police Department, and a New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officer. Tatyana was carefully extricated from the area by first responders and provided urgent medical care inside the Twin Mountain Ambulance before being transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare for further treatment.

According to investigators, Tatyana was riding as part of a large, organized tour led by an experienced guide. She was positioned third behind the guide, was wearing a helmet and appropriate riding gear, and was not traveling at an excessive speed. Authorities later confirmed that the crash was not due to recklessness, but rather operator unfamiliarity and inexperience, a reminder of how quickly accidents can occur—even under guided and seemingly controlled conditions.

Today, our thoughts are with Tatyana, her family, friends, and loved ones, who are undoubtedly facing anxious and emotional moments. We send prayers for strength, comfort, and healing, and we stand in solidarity with all who care for her during this difficult time.

This incident also serves as a solemn reminder from New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers to all who enjoy winter recreation:

to operate with caution, know your limits, and become familiar with your equipment before taking to the trails.

May Tatyana be surrounded by love, care, and hope as she recovers. May her story encourage greater awareness and safety, and may her strength carry her forward into brighter days ahead.
