On what was meant to be a day of winter adventure and shared experience, Tatyana was taking part in a guided snowmobile tour along Old Cherry Mountain Road, a designated snowmobile trail during the winter months. At approximately 11:30 a.m., emergency services were alerted through a 911 call after an accident occurred during the ride.
While operating a rental snowmobile, Tatyana attempted a slight left-hand turn. In a moment that unfolded far too quickly, the machine was pulled into soft snow along the right-hand side of the trail, causing it to veer into a tree. She sustained upper body injuries, the full extent of which was unknown at the time. Immediate action was taken by those around her, and emergency responders were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
Responding agencies included Twin Mountain Fire and Rescue, the Carroll Police Department, and a New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officer. Tatyana was carefully extricated from the area by first responders and provided urgent medical care inside the Twin Mountain Ambulance before being transported to Littleton Regional Healthcare for further treatment.
According to investigators, Tatyana was riding as part of a large, organized tour led by an experienced guide. She was positioned third behind the guide, was wearing a helmet and appropriate riding gear, and was not traveling at an excessive speed.
